We FINALLY took Dezi on her first hike! We drove South to the Tom Dorman State Nature Preserve. It was so much fun and she did so well!
Jason didn't do as well as Dezi hiking. :) Jason watches way too many horror movies with people meeting their untimely and horrific deaths while hiking in the woods... and I think we were the only people hiking at the time we were there, which made it worse. Boo!
This was also Dezi's first time wearing a harness and on a flexi lead - I am generally not a huge fan of these type of leads, but the are great for letting them explore, while still keeping them under control... or from getting lost.
I think she looks like one of those kids wearing a "monkey on your back" backpack things.

"Dezi, this way to the..."
ICE CREAM!!!
Maya treated Dezi to a pup cup at Bruster's after our hike. Do you think Dezi enjoyed her first encounter with ice cream? Hmm...
Bowl-licking, biscuit-crunching good!!
Everyone needs a post-hike, post-ice cream nap. :)
This week, we arrived at Maya's agility class early. It was a beautiful day, and I thought it would be nice to walk towards the back of the property and let the girls explore the pond. Having not had dogs that would go near water, let alone touch it, I'm always curious to see what Dezi will do.
Time for another one of Maya's agility classes. Dezi tagged along, again. She enjoyed watching the other dogs practice and visiting with everyone. You can see the beautiful facility we have to train at in the background. We are fortunate to have Goose Creek Dog Sports in Versailles, Ky.
Look at Dezi's tail wagging! She's such a happy pup.
Dezi went to her first agility trial! And she QQ'd in cuteness! As you can tell, I'm still not good at being armed and ready with a camera. The only pictures I got of Dezi at the trial was of her sleeping in her crate (sleep is just about automatic when she is put in her little house). Maya was thankful she was given her own castle while she awaited her runs. Dezi got to meet another PPP friend, Luna! We think Dezi will look very similiar to Luna when she is all grown up.
However, at the hotel, I did nothing but take pictures! Some of the best are below.

Dezi loves her bunny rattle.
Love that face! She's over it.

Aww
Had to share Maya's qualiftying ExB Standard run, too! Standard courses are so hard for us. So, anytime we qualify, it's a big deal!! We also qualified in JWW, the day before. Maybe someday we will begin to QQ. Maybe.
Maya was also very proud of herself for qualifying.
